flowing country wildlife garden
This garden is approximately 50 x 40m and faces south-west. It is slightly sloping and the soil is acidic loam. The client wanted a flowing, curvilinear garden with a lot of planting to walk around and relax in, with room for a summerhouse in the top corner to enjoy the evening sun with a glass of wine. A patio near the house should have a view of a large pond with flowing water, and the client also wanted a shady patio in a raised area from which to view the donkeys and horses in the adjoining fields.
Requirements for the new design/landscape architecture:
-
A significant water feature
-
Shady and sunny patios
-
Lawn paths to circulate around the garden
-
Lawn
-
Additional trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennials

WITHOUT ANN’S VISION THE GARDEN WOULDN’T EXIST:
"We needed a 'big vision' for our new garden and that is exactly what Ann delivered.
"She listened carefully to our ideas and interpreted them into a flowing garden with wide sweeps of planting, generous paved areas and a curvaceous pond which reflects the sunsets just magnificently.
"As the construction process evolved so did some aspects of the original plan so we now have a garden which is not only Ann's design but a bit of ours too! I enjoyed a lovely morning discussing the planting schemes and we are looking forward to our first spring/summer, seeing some leaves on the trees and the continuing evolution of our garden; a garden which without Ann's vision coupled with her attention to detail simply wouldn't exist. Thank you."
