This garden has a fantastic view across the roofs of houses to the Cob.  It is therefore on a steep slope, and did not even have one flat area to sit comfortably.  The clients have one small child, but did not want specific play areas.  The soil is alkaline loam.

 

Requirements for the new garden design/landscape architecture:

 

• A patio at the top of the garden under a pergola for shade on hot days

• A dining area near the top of the garden

• A lawn

• A compost area

• Space outside the kitchen to extend at a later date
